On Saturday, the Green made the journey to Lower Peover in the hope of a full game, weather permitting. on winning the toss skipper Dylan Heginbotham elected to bat with Josh Hampson and Lewis Clarke opening the innings facing the Peover attack led by Jones and Paliwal and it was the latter who struck when Clarke was adjudged lbw for 3, 27-1. Next to the crease skipper Heginbotham was soon into his stride as he struck an elegant 41 including 4 maximums, his batting really is very pleasing on the eye and in Hampson he had the perfect foil and the pair took the score to 93 when Heginbotham was bowled by Beardsworth for 41. New batsman Sam Messih is normally a free flowing batsman who has been in good form of late but in this moment whilst striking some superb shots played sensibly hoping to take the Green to a match winning total, with the score on 111 Hampson finally succumbed caught Dooley bowled Suryavanshi for a very patient 41. Lee Hallas joined Messih and just as the pair looked likely to form a good partnership Messih was bowled Dooley for 31, 146-4, Frank Williams fell first ball to the same bowler caught Paliwal and Hallas was joined by James Holland-Burch who was soon into his stride with a series of superb shots including one maximum, his partnership with Hallas reached 40 when the latter was bowled Nightingale for 18, 186-6. Brad Heginbotham was next to the crease for his first league innings since his return to the club and he was next to fall caught Tucker bowled Nightingale for 13, 213-7. Holland-Burch eventually fell bowled Nightingale for 40, 224-8, the tail took the final score to 234 all out a reasonable total on a track that obviously gave the bowlers that put their back into it some help. The hosts response was led by Suryavanshi and Goldstraw against the opening attack of  Dylan Heginbotham and Josh Nield and it was the former who  struck first when he bowled Suryavanshi for 5, 17-1, Heginbotham was proving virtually unplayable at this stage and with the backing of the fielders the score quickly became 46-6 when a brief flurry between Thompson and Jones took the final total to 87 all out with Heginbotham finishing on 5-20 backed George Ridings with 3-20. 2nd XI Report by John Richards.

On Saturday the 2ndXI entertained Runcorn and amassed 210 runs for just 4 wickets thanks to an amazing performance from Archie Hallas scoring 95 runs unluckily out just before his maiden century. Unfortunately this was not to be enough as the visitors passed this total with 6 wickets and 4 overs to spare, however this was due largely to very poor fielding and the inability to catch when given the opportunities and this was on quite a few occasions. However on the plus side the Green have several excellent youngsters in Kieran Henderson, Jacob O’Reilly, Archie Hallas and the Kingsmans it is important for the future of the club that they hang on to these and desist local poachers. During the week both the Greens 1st and 2ndXIs entertained Marple in T20 games, the 2nd XI tied but unfortunately lost having lost more wickets. The 1stXI also lost narrowly having scored 130 in their 20 overs beaten in the last over.
